[STILL TRANSFERRING] Charging your pitchLogic baseball is designed to be simple and easy, and a full charge provides ample battery life for multiple throwing sessions. Today I wanted to take a moment to review the basics of charging your pitchLogic ball and answer a few common questions that come up.

Basics

The basic process for charging your pitchLogic ball is straightforward:

  1. Power up your pitchLogic charging pad by connecting to a USB port that supports at least 1.5A of charging. Laptop USB ports and older phone chargers won’t typically have enough power. Here is a link to charger that works well.
  2. The light on the pad will turn red.
  3. Note the matching charging icons on the pitchLogic ball and the charging pad.
  4. Place the ball on the charging pad with the charging icons aligned so they touch.
  5. The light on the charging pad will change to blue. The light should stay solid blue as long as the ball remains on the charger.
  6. For a full charge, let the ball remain on the charger for 3 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Now that we’ve covered the basic charging process, I wanted to go over some of the questions that come up about charging.

How long will a full charge last?

A fully charged pitchLogic ball will last for about 8 hours while powered on. The ball is powered on whenever it is connected to the pitchLogic app. If you disconnect the ball or close the pitchLogic app, it will go into a low power standby mode. In this mode it should maintain a useable charge level for around one month.

Can I get a quick charge in less than 3 hours?

Yes! If you just need to top off the battery or get enough of a charge for a quick bullpen, you can charge your pitchLogic ball for a few minutes.

Is it okay to leave the ball on the charger overnight?

Yes! The pitchLogic ball has an intelligent charging circuit which will not allow it to overcharge or damage the battery. It’s okay to leave the ball on the charger so it’s always ready when you are.

What does it mean if the charger flashes red and blue?

There are two things that can cause this. The ball may not be aligned quite right on the charger. Pick up the ball and wait a moment for the charger to return to solid red. Place the ball back on the charger while taking care to align the charge logo on the ball with the matching logo on the charger. The other possibility is that the USB port the charging pad is plugged into does not have enough power. Use a USB port rated for at least 1.5A.

Should the ball get warm while charging?

This is completely normal! The ball and charging pad will get slightly warm to the touch.

How do I check the battery level of my pitchLogic ball?

The current battery level of your pitchLogic ball can be viewed while connected to the pitchLogic app. With the ball connected, tap on the menu button in the app. The battery level indicator is located at the bottom right corner of the menu panel.
