The Arkansas Razorbacks Division I Baseball program is currently ranked #2 in the nation, and pitching coach and data guru, Matt Hobbs, can be partly to thank for their success. Hobbs joined the Razorbacks in November of 2018 and immediately set off to create one of the top pitching staffs in the country.

Hobbs spoke with F5 Sports' Chief Baseball Officer and former MLB Pitcher, Lary Sorensen at this year's ABCA show about what metrics he finds key to developing as a pitcher, such as spin rate, movement, and release point. "What are you doing consistently?" Hobbs says about the basics of using data to better your pitches. While the most important metric will always be how the ball performs against a batter, you can use other data points to improve along the way.
