Increase the velocity of your four-seam fastball, or the speed of the baseball as it travels towards home plate, by checking the Spin Efficiency of your pitch. The spin efficiency is the percentage of Total Spin that is generating Breaking Force; in other words, Combined Backspin & Sidespin divided by the Total Spin will give you the Spin Efficiency of your pitch. To increase the Spin Efficiency of a pitch, be sure to stay directly behind the baseball, which will in turn increase the Backspin while decreasing Sidespin, as well.

In short, an increased Spin Efficiency will help you to throw your four-seam fastball pitch at a higher velocity.
